Which refurbished iPhone should you buy in 2026?

A refurbished iPhone is usually the best value phone you can buy in Europe — but only if you match the model to how long you actually keep a phone. Here is how the current line-up compares once you strip away the marketing.
Start with software support, not the camera
Apple supports its phones with major iOS updates for roughly six years after launch, and with security patches for longer. That means an iPhone 13 mini bought today still has around two to three major releases ahead of it, while an iPhone 15 Pro has five or more.
If you replace your phone every two years, the cheapest working model wins. If you keep a phone until it dies, paying more for a newer chip is genuinely cheaper per year of use.
Battery health is the number that matters
